Moxibustion involves burning of the dried herb mugwort over specific areas or points of the body. Moxa’s strong warming quality warms the qi (energy) and blood and improves circulation, especially in disorders characterized by coldness, such as menstrual disorders, digestive complaints, and arthritic pain.

Cupping is highly beneficial in releasing musculoskeletal tension and pain and removing symptoms of the common cold, flu, and other respiratory disorders. A vacuum is created with a specialized cup that is then placed flush against the patient’s skin. The suction then pulls the skin and underlying fascia into the opening of the cup, stimulating the area. The procedure is painless, however the skin may appear red or purple.

Gua sha or “scraping therapy,” involves pressurized strokes over oiled skin with a smooth-edged instrument. With firm pressure, the smooth edge is “scraped” on the surface of the skin along the meridian pathways where energy flows. Similar to the cupping method, this results in the appearance of small red petechiae, referred to as ‘sha.’ This practice removes blood stagnation and promotes circulation and metabolic processes. The marks on the skin may be slightly tender, but are not painful and, in fact, the patient often experiences immediate relief from symptoms such as pain, stiffness, or cough.

Testimonials

No matter what you need help with, this is the place to go! Kim Cherry is an absolute godsend. Beyond being extremely knowledgeable (really about EVERYTHING!) She is empathetic and astonishingly intuitive. I’ve gone in extreme pain that has been greatly diminished after acupuncture, I’ve gone with nausea and she has completely alleviated it, which is something no medicine has ever achieved, And even if you go in good health, it is a wonderful and valuable experience. The best treatment and therapy for even just the stresses of your week. THIS IS THE BEST PLACE OUT THERE. Do yourself a favor and make an appointment!

I had acupuncture today for the first time. And I never write reviews. But I felt that I needed too. Dr. Kim is absolutely incredible!!!! She is incredibly calming. I have suffered with anxiety and phobias my entire life. But today, I have finally found a sense of relaxation I have never been able to achieve. I will be going back weekly to her. If you are looking to give acupuncture a try, go see Dr. Kim!!!! She’s amazing!!!!!

While visiting my daughter in PA, I was blessed to have an acupuncture treatment by Dr. Kim. I have been bothered by a shoulder injury since 2015 but she gave me immediate relief as well as some great advice about using a low sling to keep my arm close to my body so the shoulder can heal. In addition to that, Matthew gave me one of the best deep tissue massages I have ever had! I drove up from Florida by myself and all the tension and knots were worked out after this visit. The office is very clean, calming, peaceful and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. When will the insurance companies get the message that alternative medical treatments do work?! Holistic approaches help people relieve symptomatic pain so they can heal in a natural way utilizing the body’s own inate healing abilities, limited only by time and matter. I strongly recommend a visit to this facility for those who have tried traditional methods which have not worked for them. Dr. Kim and her colleagues know their stuff. By the way, I did not even feel a needle prick while Dr. Kim administered my treatment.
